INSiGHT™ NeuroCORE

Surface Electromyography Scan for Spinal Muscle Function

Postural Muscle & Balance Score

The use of this technology provides a thorough analysis of the body’s Nervous System function. As chiropractors, it is important to, not only know the vertebra-spinal function, but to have the crucial understanding of the spinal NERVE function that exits the spine and how it may impact your life. Having this understanding will allow you, as the patient, to have the knowledge on how your body is operating under stress. And this knowledge goes beyond a symptom-based care.

The Central Nervous System (CNS) is constantly communicating with your spinal muscles to assess your posture. The CNS is trying to make sure you can stand upright when standing or walking. A disruption in this communication can send the wrong signals to the brain. Consequently, the muscles around your spine may get overstressed or underactive creating hypertonic (tight) or hypotonic (loose) muscles. Having an unbalanced energy flow (nerve communication) through your spine may allow for subluxation (joints not moving properly) to occur.

The NeuroCORE technology measures the energy flowing through the muscles around your spine. A chiropractor uses the results to better understand your postural muscles activity. Chiropractic care may help balance your energy flow efficiently by providing specific adjustments through your spine.

The sEMG (surface electromyography) scan shows:

  • Where your muscles are overworking and creating tension.
  • Where your muscles are underactive and need support.
  • How well your spine and nervous system are working together to support posture and movement.

Uncover Neuromuscular Stress Before It Becomes a Problem

Every movement you make—standing, walking, sitting, lifting, even breathing—is controlled by your nervous system. But what happens when your nervous system isn’t sending the right signals to your muscles?

When muscle imbalances go unchecked, your body compensates, leading to tension, stiffness, weakness, and unnecessary stress on your spine and joints. You may not feel it right away, but over time, this hidden dysfunction can cause chronic pain, postural issues, and decreased performance in daily life.

Your nervous system controls every function in your body. When it’s out of balance, your health suffers. The neuroCORE scan helps us find those hidden imbalances—before they turn into bigger problems.

What is the NeuroCORE Scan?

The NeuroCORE scan uses Surface Electromyography (sEMG) to measure how well your nervous system is controlling muscle function. By detecting areas of overactivity, weakness, or imbalance, we can identify the hidden sources of stress and dysfunction that affect your movement and performance.

Unlike traditional muscle testing, NeuroCORE gives an objective, real-time look at your neuromuscular health—so we can fix the problem at its source, not just treat symptoms.

What does it measure?

  • Muscle Overactivity– Are certain muscles working too hard, creating tension and stiffness?
  • Muscle Weakness– Are some areas underactive, leading to instability and poor posture?
  • Nervous System Fatigue– Is your body compensating inefficiently, draining your energy?
  • Balance & Coordination– Are your muscles firing in a way that supports strong, healthy movement?

The NeuroCORE scan is a quick, non-invasive assessment that gives us a real-time look at how well your nervous system is controlling muscle function. By measuring the electrical activity in your muscles, we can identify hidden imbalances, overuse patterns, and neurological inefficiencies that could be affecting your movement and posture.

How the NeuroCORE Scan Works

01 A Quick, Non-Invasive Scan

  • You are comfortably seated with your spine exposed.
  • The NeuroCORE instrument is strategically placed over spinal segments to read and measure energy and tension.
  • The scan is completely painless and requires no radiation, needles, or discomfort.

02 Detecting Muscle Imbalance & Nervous System Fatigue

  • The sensors on the instrument detect electrical signals from your muscles and nerves.
  • These sensors measure how active or underactiveyour muscles are, helping us identify areas of tension, weakness, or imbalance.

03 Creating a Personalized Care Plan

  • Your scan results provide a clear, measurable roadmapfor improving function.
  • Based on your results, we develop a care plan that may include:
    • Chiropractic adjustmentsto restore proper nervous system control.
    • Corrective exercisesto strengthen weak areas and release tension.
    • Postural and movement retrainingto optimize coordination and stability.
  • Regular follow-up scans help us track progress and adjust care as needed.

Why is the NeuroCORE Scan Important?

Most people don’t realize that muscle imbalances create stress on the nervous system, forcing the body to work harder just to maintain basic movement and posture. Over time, this added strain can lead to chronic pain, restricted movement, and poor performance in everyday activities.

NeuroCORE scan helps detect:

  • Postural imbalancesthat can lead to back, neck, and shoulder pain
  • Overactive musclesthat create tension and stiffness
  • Underactive musclesthat weaken support for your spine
  • Nervous system stresscaused by inefficient movement patterns

By correcting these imbalances early, we can help you prevent injuries, improve movement, and reduce strain on your nervous system—before it becomes a bigger issue.
